So…The Blue Album.  This is one of my favorite albums hands down.  At only ten songs, it’s a perfect number of songs.  42 minutes is a nice amount of time, and each song is a heartfelt rock out.  It starts with My Name Is Jonas, a little ditty about the Will Keeper, Jonas, and a great way to start the album.  No One Else is a love song that’s clean and awesome at the same time, and that’s hard to do in this day and age.  The World has turned is a little emo for my tastes, but a good song none the less.  Buddy Holly is considered by many to be the high point of the album, but I think that’s My Name is Jonas, but whatever.  The album is multilayered, and requires a few play-throughs to get used to.

LEGACY:

This is one of the best examples of 90’s rock, along side Nirvana’s Nevermind and Rage Against the Machine’s Evil Empire .  Only this album is up-lifting.  It’s also Been featured in Guitar Hero 3 and Rock Band, with My name is Jonas and Say it ain’t so respectivly.  It has been featured on many  “Best Albums Ever” lists. In 2004, Weezer released a Special Edition of the album, which included a bunch of rarities.  The Special Edition is avalible on iTunes for $20.

VERDICT:

If you do not own this album, buy it.  Now.

RATING SYSTEM:
